Pandora's POV
His lips felt warm againts mine. I was really surprised when he kissed me. I had a feeling he loved me, but this really surprised me. Then I realised I had feelings for him, too. He was a year older than me, but it didn't matter. All of the boys back in the village liked me, but I didn't care. I leaned into the kiss and pulled away a little while later. Just then Josh came up to the deck. He saw us. "Did I interrupt something?" I shook my head no. "I'm going back donw there. See ya." He went back downstairs.
"I'm sorry, Pan. I wasn't thinking. Why would I ever think a girl like you liked me?"
"Are you serious, Atreo? Of course I like you!" I hugged him and he hugged me back. "Well, I'm tired. I'm going to bed. You should too." We headed under deck and went to bed.
The next morning I woke up when the boat lurched. I got up and went to the top deck. "What happened?"
"We ran across ground in the night. It's a big sandbar. Can you try getting us out of it?"
"Sure." I used my powers to try to get us out of there, but I couldn't get the water high enough. "It's not working. What are we going to do?"
"I don't know. Can you get a whale to help us?"
"I'll see if there are any around." I used my senses to see if there were any nearby, and there was a whole pod. I used my ability to speak in animals' minds, so I called to them. Hey, a little help over here! Wer're stuck on a sandbar. Can we have some help?
Yes, my lady. One of the whales spoke in my mind. I jumped in the water to help them. We pushed the boat off the sandbar and into the water.

Your welcome, my lady. If you ever need me, just say 'Alcie' into the wind. I will hear you wherever you are. They swam away. I used the water to get back on the boat. We watched the pod swim towards the sun. Then I heard another voice in my mind.
My lady, may I stay with you? I want to help you on your quest. I looked over the side and saw a little baby whale.
What are you doing here?
I want to help you. Can I?
